Hey Steven, I’m late to the game but have been binge reading these great entries. Fun fact - in 1993 I was in college at Western Washington University and worked part time as a bell boy at Semiahmoo. I’m pretty sure I was actually working there during the Microsoft offsite you describe. All of us bellboys hoped to take bags up for the Microsoft bigwigs and score a great tip! I started at MS in the summer of 1995 in “Ren”, aka Outlook v1

That's wild!
IIRC when I joined July 2, 1990 there were 7200 employees. Or was it 2700 and I'm dyslexic?
The 5,000 number at the top is the subscriber number not employee headcount. Sorry if that was confusing.
July is a good time to know the specifics because the fiscal year headcount for 1990 would be in the annual report.
5,635 and fiscal year end June 30, 1990 in the annual report, up from 4,037 6/30/1989.
I wonder where I got the 7200 number from. Age, I guess. Thanks.
