Re: Battle Hymn of the Reorg. This was published in the March 8, 1996 issue of the MicroNews by Anonymous (DeanB). Here are the full lyrics:

Oh, our eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Net,

We are ramping up our market share, objectives will be met.

Soon our browser will be everywhere, you ain't seen nothin' yet,

We embrace and we extend!

Glory, glory, to the mission,

We'll arm ourselves with new divisions,

Though your group's a total loss

And you don't know who's your boss,

We embrace and we extend!

Our competitors were laughing, said our network was a flake,

Saw the Internet economy as simply theirs to take.

They'll regret the fateful day the sleeping giant did awake,

We embrace and we extend!

Glory, glory, to the vision,

Though Netscape treats us with derision,

But soon will come the hour

When their stock price starts to sour,

We embrace and we extend!

With transactional security installed on every site,

And with TrueType on our side we stand for everything that's right,

Our superior technology is bound to win the fight,

We embrace and we extend!

Glory, glory, to the fusion,

We cross the platforms with solutions,

The old model we eschew,

For a paradigm that's new,

We embrace and we extend!

Thank you Greg. Also, Blue connected me with Dean and I tweeted out links to his site and the MicroNews. What a fantastic part about writing this and everyone sharing their history.

Great article. Imagine what would have happened if Tim Berners-Lee had used RTF (instead of HTML).

After the paragraph about the Pizza Hut lunch ending Duh!

The paragraph starting "To save slides to the WWW" stops mid-sentence.

There was going to be a sample image but I deleted it to save space and in the process lost the sentence ending.
